The Family Way: The Baby Shower

Here's my first post on the blog! You would think with being home everyday that it would be easier to find the time to do this, but there's always a thousand other things to do in a day. The joys of kids. Actually, I love it!

But this post is about baby showers, mine and Rowan's specifically and it was a blast! I had a bunch of great friends there, Gramma Nora and Auntie Christine came in and Gramma Lynne makes a mean martini. I highly recommend having her for any party you might be planning! As well as being a kick ass cook, her and her girls are fantastic bartenders.

Thanks to all my friends who came. The food was excellent, we love the gifts and it was fun to get together and have adult conversation. That doesn't happen quite as often as it used to since I'm hanging out with a 6 week old all day. Wow 6 weeks! How the time flies!
James and I are still eating the tasty goodies 3 days later. (My Mum's seafood surprise dip was pretty fantastic. She usually makes me make it at Christmas. I think she'll have to do it from now on!)
For lovely gifts: Eeyore and some cute outfits from Brenda and Leanne; a purple stuffed cow, Princess bunnyhug and a Christmas outfit from Danica; a beautiful home-made quilt from Anna, made by her (her hand-stitching is perfect!); a baby/keepsake book from Sarah; a snowsuit and toques from Auntie Kim and Uncle Murray (snowsuit picked out by Uncle Murray!); cash from Gramma Nora and Great Gramma Blanche; a cheque (in Rowan's name!), earings and a cute pin from Great Auntie Christine; and from Gramma Lynne and Grampa Doug: her very first rocking horse! It whinnys, clip-clops, shakes his tail and bobs his head! Fabulous!

Thanks ladies for coming! It was super fun and I didn't have to worry about Rowan at all with a roomful of women, someone was always looking after her. And Mom got to have adult drinks! Ooo! Fun!
