The Plague Hits...

At the most in-opportune time! We had a few rounds of sickness pass through our house in the last little while and it always comes at a bad time, doesn't it?

But aren't we cute in the hospital?!

I managed to pick up a bacterial infection that took me down for the better part of a month and a half. In that time I missed 2 of my night classes, about a week's worth of work and several bedtimes since I just couldn't manage to stay up as late as Rowan. Her bedtime is at 7pm...

I did get some lovely flowers from work though. We ended up at the hospital on my doctor's orders, which got us no closer to an answer, but the antibiotics cleared everything up. I got way behind in my night class though and I'm not sure that I passed my final. We'll have to see if I managed to pass the class.
Rowan got another cold somewhere in there, with lots of snotty sneezes and a re-occurrence of her evil butt rash, but as usual with her, it didn't really slow her down much. She napped a bit more but was otherwise her usual chippy self.
James was also feeling under the weather for a few days and then just last week suffered a bout of food poisoning. FYI: we think he got it from Tusq. Just so you know. Everyone is nicely healed up now though.

We do think there might have been another reason for Rowan's butt rash; we lost her amber teething necklace a while ago. Not sure where it went, it just sort of, disappeared. It was a week and a half before we managed to pick her up another one. Now, whether you believe that teething necklaces work or not, we've noticed a difference with her when she wears it. For the time it was missing, her cheeks were very red, she drooled BUCKETS, and she had the a fore mentioned butt rash. I don't think the necklace helps with the butt rash, but shortly after we got her a new necklace, she stopped drooling, her cheeks were back to an adorable pink and lo and behold: a new tooth! One of her molars has popped! It's the one on the left bottom. Soon she'll be able to chew properly! So exciting!

Now that I'm done school until January, I'll try and get a few more posts up. We have lots of pictures to post and some more stories to tell, so I'll try not to keep you in suspense for long!

In the meantime:

I crocheted some ill-fitting mittens, Daddy and Rowan read together and Cary puts Jay's toque on Rowan. That kid is so cute!
