Job Hunting & Other Frustrations
Again, I have to apologize to anyone reading how long it's been since I posted anything. We've been very busy, had a few crazy days and any time I've been on the computer lately, it's for depressingly unproductive job hunting.
I now have about 10 resumes out in the last week and a half, and I haven't gotten a single call! I thought I would at least get an interview or two out of those, but no, not a peep from anyone. My parental leave runs out tomorrow, Rowan starts daycare on Thursday (that's a whole 'nother thing!) and I have no job! Bahhh! I'm attempting to stay positive, I keep applying for more jobs and keep hoping. Hope with me please!
On the plus side, our first month of daycare had to be paid in advance, so at least we don't have that to worry about. As much as I'm completely in love with that little girl, I am looking forward to getting back to work and out of the house. I'm just not cut out to be a stay at home mom. But do I have tons more respect for you women who do it! I'd rather clean up a year's worth of bad bookkeeping. At least there's a definite right or wrong answer to that!
I'm also looking forward to having Rowan spend some time with other kids, especially ones her own age. James and I teach her things, but it's so much fun to watch her learn from other kids, things she just can't pick up from us. I know she'll learn some bad habits too, but it can't be any worse than learning my potty mouth!
Rowan is now popping her fourth tooth this summer. Four teeth in two months? Not fair! There have been buckets of drool, lots of grouching, crying and not much sleep for anyone the last few days. James is the best daddy in the world though, and stayed up with her until 2am the other night so that I could get some sleep after having a sneezy day. Yesterday, I had to lay down with her to get her to nap, and today that's all she wants to do is nap. So I take advantage of the time to post this and apply for more jobs. Wish me luck!
