Fun Stuff

Look at that! Drinking out of a real glass!

I can't remember if I posted anything about these things, so if I did, I'm sorry, but I know these pictures are all new! Gramma Lynne had Rowan drinking out of a real glass at their house one day, so we thought, "Why not?" and started at home. She's never even looked back! She never uses the sippy cup at home anymore for meals! We do still have a "water bottle" with a straw for her, but James and I always drink out of water bottles, so that's pretty normal in our house. It sure makes it a lot easier to get her to drink when we're out and about. Giving her a drink from our water bottles is still a bit of a challenge, but we'll get to that. I'd like to get her her own stainless steel water bottle like ours, since it's much better than using plastic, but I haven't tracked one down that I like yet. The search is on!

Pilates: Monday & Wednesday, Yoga: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Cary, Jay and Morgan always give educational toys and the ball gets points on a few levels. For one thing, it was endlessly entertaining to watch her learn to sit on it! The first time (in the picture) she just kind of squatted down on it and then sat there for a few minutes. It was great! After that, she's had a bit more trouble trying to do it again, but she keeps working on it. It's also a good ball for kicking and rolling, but I get it in the face a little too often for my liking. Something else for us to work on: aim.

Kisses for Daddy!

One night right before my night class Rowan all of a sudden just looked at me, leaned forward and puckered her lips. Super cute! Now it's pretty easy to get kisses when we ask for them. At least Daddy can get them pretty easy. It seems to be a bit more challenging for me to get them, but I still do get them most of the time. So we now get good night kisses, good-bye kisses and "just 'cause kisses". It's awesome!

Her talking just keeps getting better too. She says "bum" now for when she falls and when she needs a diaper change. It's sometimes confusing, but at least she tell us now when she's had a poop. There are too many "b" words in our life though. "Ba" means bath, bottle, blanket, button, and I think a few other things. We figured out "dupay". It's both "I want" and "Here you go". I'm not quite sure why "dupay", but it seems to be working for her. She knows and can sort of say nose, toes, ears, eyes and knees. Now and then James or I or the cats will get a poke in the eye while she says eye, but it's cool that she know what they are. She also knows glasses, "ga", so that means she also pokes me in the glasses. Greasy finger prints! I've had to apologize to my mum for every time I ever licked her glasses when I was in high school. So much fun to watch her learning!
