Zen & The Art of Parenting

Without a doubt parenting is the best job I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging parenting by calling it a job, because let's face it, it's work. Having said that, however, it is the most rewarding work I've ever done, and every single day brings both a challenge and reward (even if that reward is only 8 hours or uninterrupted sleep).
I've always been a mellow sort of chap (at least since the age of 25 when I put my "anger issues" behind me) but it's amazing to me to watch my mellowness infect others around me. Witness the pictures below, where my insanely cute little girl is napping on my arm, and my fluffy cute cat is napping on my lap and my little girl. Everybody just wanted to nap on Dad that afternoon, and I sure the heck wasn't gonna say no.
You are both very sleepy...
Zzzzzzzzz...
Now, I've had a few people ask me how I pull off moments like these and so I thought I'd share my method with you. It's simple: relax! Seriously, just relax. If you find yourself in a moment where you can have a child and/or a pet hanging with you then you need to focus on the child and/or pet. Remaining the calm one in the room will radiate outwards and will affect everyone positively. And then life is grand!

And if you are relaxed and everyone gets in a good nap and is also relaxed you can have fabulous moments of happiness that make life worthwhile, like this:

Love and happiness
