We got to spend Thanksgiving with two sets of grandparents this year. First James and I made dinner for Gramma Robin and Grampa Henry at our house. We had a tasty dinner with a fabulous chicken that we got from our friend Cary. Stuffing, potatoes, the works. It was great.
Then we had turkey dinner the next night with Gramma Lynne and Grandpa Doug, Auntie Krista, Cousin Stephanie and her friend. We got to have tasty turkey (Lynne makes the best turkey I've ever had), mashed potatoes, appies, and tons of desserts.
Robin and Henry stayed in the city for a week after Thanksgiving, spending a couple of evenings with us, as well as keeping Rowan for a day. They had tons of fun. Auntie Judy stopped by for a visit that day as well. The weekend after, we hung out for the whole day. We started with brunch with Gramma Robin, Grampa Henry, Auntie Judie, Uncle Foster and Uncle Mark at Denny's. Then Gramma and Grampa came over and we spent the day going for a walk to the grocery store, playing cards and having dinner. Then they left to drive back to Mexico for the winter. We're very jealous and we'll miss them lots, but we plan lots of Skyping with them this winter. Opening presents with Mark at our house and Robin and Henry in Mexico last year was fun, even though Rowan slept through most of the call. We just couldn't keep her awake! The day they left, we said good-bye to Gramma Lynne and Grandpa Doug who left for their brand new place in Palm Springs. We can't wait to visit them there! They'll be home for Christmas, so we'll see them early in December when they get back.
It's actually nice to have Grandma's and Grandpa's who go somewhere warm for the winter. It gives us a nice warm place to go when winter just sucks here in Saskatchewan. And wow, does it suck some years. Looking forward to going back to Mexico and having a cool new place to see in California. I've never been to California...
