Anna and Elena Visit

Elena, Anna & Rowan.

We got our first visit from Anna and Elena since Rowan was born. Anna was there when I found out I was pregnant and she was about 3 months along with Elena, and was almost here for Rowan's birth as well, but since my girl decided to be fashionably late, Anna had to head back to Ottawa. Anna and I have been friends since U of S, so it's fun to have daughters who are about 4 months apart.

Playing & sharing, fairly well.

We had a couple of good visits while they were here. Rowan and Elena have similar personalities and are pretty good at playing independently, so Anna and I got some good visiting in. They shared pretty well together, considering this is the first time Rowan has had someone else here playing with her toys. Elena is motoring around (walked at 9 months!), so as Rowan would be playing with a toy, Elena would walk over to her, Rowan would hold out the toy and Elena would take it to play with. I think there were a couple of times Elena took a toy that wasn't offered, but she was never mean about it and Rowan didn't really seem to mind. As time went on, I happened to notice that as Rowan would give Elena toys, Elena would drop it just out of Rowan's reach. At one point, Anna and I realized that Rowan was sitting in a circle of toys that she couldn't quite reach! It was pretty funny!

The girls also managed to go for their naps at about the same time, so Anna and I got some time to sit out on the deck with Mohitos. You know it's summer when you can drink mohitos out on the deck!
