Kristi-Ann and Kara have been Irish Dancing for the last couple of years and this year they decided to come out to Saskatoon to attend a Feis (I think that's right), which is a big competition. It was tons of fun to watch both of them. Kristi-Ann was one of only a few adults competing, which is actually kind of nice since Kara and I could get great seats to watch. She's pretty good! And it's always fun to watch family do that kind of stuff. She won a few medals and had a good time. Kara was great! Her dress is very pretty and her dancing was great. I missed her soft shoe, since Rowan needed to go home for a nap and I had to pick up Gramma Nora, but I saw most of her hard shoe dances. Great music, great dancing and lots of fun. Kara won a few medals and trophies. Well done Kara!
There was only one downside to the weekend which was that Rowan didn't really sleep all that well. I think part of it was because of all the company and part was the heat. It was an almost 45 minute affair to get her to sleep every night. But she did sleep and had great fun with Kara. Kara was really great with Rowan. Fed her, played with her and had some good cuddles. She even learned how to change a cloth diaper, with James' help. It's a good skill to have, really. It was great to have her helping out with Rowan. That way Kristi-Ann and I could get in some quality visiting time. We only get to see each other about once a year or so. You would think that with them only being 7 or so hours away, we could see each other more, but we're all so busy, and, well, broke, it's just hard to get those trips in. Hopefully when I'm back at work and we have more money coming in, James, Rowan and I can make it out to their place so Rowan can meet Uncle Doug and Cousin Curtis too.
